About me

Interested in opportunities that will let me design great products for everyone around the world. I am detail-oriented when it counts, and equipped with professional experience from different industries, I can reliably drive myself towards bigger goals. A quick learner who's not scared of experimenting with unconventional approaches to solving a problem.

I am currently pursuing an MS in Mechanical Engineering at Texas A&M University, with a curriculum that would help me create new products¹, continuously improve on existing products², and optimize systems³ so that they just work for anyone⁴ reliably⁵.

¹ Advanced Product Design, ² Co-op at SharkNinja, ³ Multidisciplinary System Analysis and Design Optimization, ⁴ Human Information Processing, ⁵ Human Error and Resilient System Design.

Experience

  1. SharkNinja

    Product Design Engineer Co-op

    July 2023 - Present

    • Designed injection molding components with SOLIDWORKS for higher structural strength, better manufacturability, & improved UX, while closely collaborating with global teams from UK and China.
    • Built works-like prototypes using Arduino, sensors, and AC-powered electro-mechanical sub-systems to test and develop novel interaction methods with new product.
    • Led root-cause analysis efforts to track and resolve new consumer product development issues pre-production.
    • Fabricated fixtures and test setups, and utilized various machine shop tools to produce robust and functional prototypes quickly.
    • Supported team with DFM reports, Tolerance stacks, and teardowns of competitor and legacy products.

  2. Mixed-Initiative Design Lab @Texas A&M University

    Graduate Researcher

    Arpil 2022 - December 2022

    • Led design and configuration of hardware for virtual reality object manipulation using IMU sensors to perform VR interaction studies in early-stage design contexts.
    • Enhanced user experience by rigorously testing and modifying user-interfaces and hardware for diverse human-use scenarios, ensuring system reliability across 40+ study participants.

  3. Tata Motors Ltd

    Product Manager

    August 2019 - December 2020

    • Managed CAD reviews & discussed product feasibility with all stakeholders (Quality, Customer & Research teams) as part of New Product Introduction process.
    • EConducted root-cause analysis using FMEA and 5-Why, during prototype vehicle assembly, identifying design and production issues and devising effective short- and long-term solutions.
    • Strategized manufacturing and procurement methods, leading to significant cost savings of approximately INR 40,000 per vehicle (2-3% of cost price).
